People went crazy about these songs this year, Colombian pop star Shakira’s Waka Waka  the official theme song of 2010 FIFA World CUP South Africa and K’Naan Waving Flag which he first wrote for people of Haiti, then composed the same song for Soccer Fans. Both Waka Waka and Waving Flag were in the list of most searched songs on the web by the soccer fans. Waka Waka features the local band “Freshlyground” in the album. “Waka Waka” is based upon a traditional African soldiers’ song named Zangalewa, a 1986 makossa hit for Cameroonian group Golden Sounds.

K’Naan Waving Flag was officially made by Coca-Cola for soccer fans as Coca-Cola’s promotional anthem for FIFA World Cup 2010 which has 2 versions, Arabic version of K’naan’s song Wavin’ Flag with Nancy Ajram. The Spanish version features K’naan and Spanish singer David Bisbal (in English and Spanish). The song also appears on the soundtrack for the video games NBA 2K10.
